From Brooks-range.com-
“Two of what are arguably the most useful lengths of rubber you will ever own.
Brooks-Range Backcountry Ski Straps are made of stretchable, durable, polyurethane with a hardened aluminum buckle. Need to tie something down, or hold two pieces together, or repair something? The only thing more useful than a pair of 12″ Brooks-Range Backcountry Ski Straps would be a pair of 24″ straps. That and a bit of Duct Tape should have you MacGyvering in style whenever you need it.”
Well they are absolutely correct. These straps are like duct tape and magic all put nicely in a piece of rubber. I couldn’t come up with a better way to describe them than what Brooks Range said so there it is. The only problem is that once you store one set of skis with the straps on, the straps start to “memorize” the ski length, sort of like when you have a belt it contours to that one hole you use. After a little bit the paint starts to chip but that doesn’t affect any functionality what so ever.
Wow Factor-
- Super useful
- They don’t brittle like other straps
- They are bright orange, so they are easy to find in snow etc
- Nice and long
- Secure attachment
Buyer Beware-
- The 24 inche straps are too long unless you have super fat skis
- an 18 inch or 16 inch size would be perfect
- The paint chips

Final Verdict- Great Product I won’t ski with out them.
Rating- 8/10
Price- 12 inch- $7.20 (for 2)
24 inch- $9.90 (for 2)
